Stripe Terminal — In-Venue Card Payments

Stripe Terminal is a physical card reader that connects Stadli to an in-person payment device. When you process a manual order and select Card as the payment method, Stadli charges the physical reader.

Use Stripe Terminal for:

  • Walk-up sales at the box office
  • Group sales where the buyer is present
  • Any in-person transaction where you want a card-present rate (lower processing fees than card-not-present)

Path: Admin > Settings > Terminal

  1. Plug in or power on your Stripe Terminal reader.
  2. Click Register Reader.
  3. Enter the Registration Code displayed on the reader’s screen.
  4. Give the reader a name (e.g., “Box Office Window 1”).
  5. Click Register.

The reader is now connected to your Stadli account.

Set a default reader: If you have multiple readers, designate one as default. Manual orders will automatically use the default reader unless you choose a different one.

  1. Create a manual order (Admin > Orders > New Order — see Manual Sales).
  2. Select Card as the payment method.
  3. Select the reader (or use the default).
  4. Click Charge [Amount].
  5. The reader activates — the buyer taps, inserts, or swipes their card.
  6. Payment result appears in Stadli within a few seconds.

Cancelling a charge: Click Cancel Charge before the buyer presents their card. Do not remove the reader or close the browser while a charge is processing.

Path: Admin > Settings > Terminal > Register Simulated Reader

Use a simulated reader for staff training or testing without processing real payments. Simulated readers accept test card numbers only.

Path: Admin > Settings > Terminal > [Reader Name] > Remove
